White Ibis, Buckeye AZ, 3-3-24
I dipped three times on this Ibis. It has wintered with immense flocks of White-faced Ibis in the flooded fields in and around Buckeye, ranging all the way to Arlington. Yesterday, 3-2-24, it was reported by Nolan Walker. So Ted Wolff and I left Green Valley the following morning and arrived at the reported spot about 8:15 am. No bird. So we wandered around looking for a flock of the White One’s second cousins. We finally found the right flock near the Palo Verde school @ Old US 80. This spot was near where Nolan found it. The White Ibis did not put up much of a struggle.
