Well Fans, here it is, my nemesis bird. Ron Batie reported this fine specimen from Pena Blanca Lake this morning. It was at a drying puddle along the south (lower) Thumb Rock picnic area. As soon as I got word I was out the door and at the lake in 45 minutes. It took about one hour for the bird to materialize. Then it gave two good showings – at 3pm and 3:30pm. I suspect that the place will be crowded with birders early tomorrow. Now that I’ve seen my nemesis bird, the world can end, and I’m OK with it. Or, I’ll just choose another nemesis.
