End of the World Birding – Santa Rita Lodge

June 15, 2021

Berylline Hummingbird

It has been pretty warm lately. Right now (June 15, 2021 @11:01am) 107F. Expected to get to ~112F today. So if one wants to go chase birds around it’s best to get out very early and get into the AC by about 9am. Madera Canyon offers some respite from the heat, about 10F less than Green Valley.

So a Berylline hummer showed recently at Santa Rita Lodge. In exactly the same spot as last year’s bird. So there cannot really be any doubt that it’s the same bird.
