
This mega-rarity showed up November 13, 2022. Found by Torin Water. And, magically, a second Fan-tailed warbler was found by Carol Hipplemeyer at Catalina State Park – a lot closer than the 150 mile one-way for this bird. The second bird was earlier ID’d as a Kentucky. Go figure.










Both the sapsucker and parula are believed to be returning/wintering birds who spent last winter at almost exactly the same spot. The Ovenblird who has wintered nearby for the last three years is expected anytime.
