End of the World Birding – Early July

July 5, 2023

It’s been hot, temperature-wise. Birding early from shady areas is best. At Box Canyon one can sit in the shade, in a chair, and watch the birds come down to the seep. A Paton’s and Santa Rita Lodge, ditto. The Becard Trail at Tubac and the Guy Tobin Trail in Rio Rico are in cottonwood canopies.

Green Kingfisher Guy Tobin 7-4-23

Hooded Oriole Box Canyon 6-29-23

Rose-throated Becard Tubac 7.2.23

Varied Bunting Box Canyon 7-1-23

I’ve been using my Z8 camera for about a month. Steep learning curve, but worth it.
