We’ve been having a nice selection of wintering birds in SEAZ. Tennessee Warblers, Northern Parula, Black-and-White Warblers, Chestnut-sided Warblers, Black-throated Blue Warblers, Gray Catbirds, Rose-throated Becards, Rufous-backed Robins, and Black-throated Green Warblers. This stunning immature Black-throated Green was spotted on the Tucson CBC on Tuesday December 14, 2021. I tried on the following day but dipped. Yesterday it was seen by many, so I tried again this morning, 12-17-2021. After several quick and lousy looks it finally put on an eye-level show for about 10 minutes. It was always seen in the vicinity a Black-throated Gray.
This Chestnut-sided has been seen off-and-on for several weeks at Santa Gertrudis.
