Box Canyon, located about 15 miles east of Green Valley has had some decent birds recently. Fan-tailed Warbler and Northern Waterthrush besides the usual Five-striped Sparrow and Lucifer Hummingbird. So I ventured out there early on two days and mostly sat in a camping chair in the shade (its been hot) for several hours watching the birds come into the closest water. The Cuckoo is the best bird I saw. It appeared several times, and finally perching on the edge of the spring-fed trough.
