This particular heron makes a good living off of the Koi that have adapted well to the pond at Canoa. These invasive fish are also taken by Osprey.

While Mexican Squealers (Black-bellied Whistling Ducks) are common at the WTP at Amado, this is the first I’ve seen of these birds breeding.

Painted Buntings, both males and greenies, are being seen in numerous location in SEAZ – Portal, Patagonia, Amado, Canoa, and Arivaca Lake.

This Lucifer ls apparently nesting in almost the exact same spot as was used last year and the year before. This year we’ve had a number crop of flowering Agave, so finding foraging hummers is more difficult.
